What was your major in college? And if you are a recent grad, did you find a job in your field?

For those of you on your second jobs, is that second job in the same field?

And if you are about 10 years into your career…what career are you in now?

I think it is more common than ever for the workforce to change careers, for marketing majors to go into sales, and for pre-med students to shift to engineering.

Take note, hiring managers! When you are looking for a new team member, pay more attention to the personal experience rather than industry experience, as long as your industry doesn’t require an immediate license or degree.

Don’t be afraid to train a new hire! That training time is temporary and will be a lasting reward for your org and for your team.
